Plant Engineer is the official journal for the Institution of Plant Engineers (IPlantE), now incorporated within the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE).

It is published seven times per year, and is essential reading for engineers, technicians and managers engaged in the specification, installation, operation, maintenance and certification of industrial plant and services. Under editor Brian Tinham, it provides news, analysis and features of all aspects of plant and operations engineering. Every issue contains a Plant and Equipment Focus covering subjects such as Pumps, Plant Automation and Compressed Air and an Asset Management Feature which looks at topics such as Lighting, Flooring, Waste Management and Dust and Fume control.

Plant Engineer has a total circulation of 9,417, of which 4,479 encompasses all the SOE’s IplantE and BES (Bureau of Engineer Surveyors) members, covering plant engineers and engineering surveyors in the process, manufacturing, transportation, construction, facilities management, utilities and armed forces sectors. A further 4,611 qualified engineers within larger plant engineering departments, hand picked from Findlay’s ABC audited circulation database, also receive every issue. Findlay’s unique database identifies the universe of separate plant engineering departments within manufacturing, process, utility and related sites, and counts the number of qualified staff working in each department. Starting at the top with the largest departments, regardless of overall numbers of employees onsite, Plant Engineer reaches right down into departments with fewer than 10 engineers for all sites with 200+ employees overall. No other magazine in this market has such a tightly targeted circulation.
